He was born in Athens /Greece. He obtained is bachelor’s degree in physics from the Physics Department of the University of Patras in 1993. And obtained his Master of Science in Medical Physics from the University of Surrey, UK. He completed his training as a Medical Physicist in the departments of Medical Physics of “Evangelismos” General Hospital in Athens and of “Agios Savvas” Anticancer Hospital in Athens, reece).

He also holds a Master of Science in Hospital Management and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from University of Patras.

He has been working in the Nuclear Medicine Department of “Evangelismos” General Hospital in Athens since 1999 and in the PET/CT unit of the same Hospital since 2007. During this period, he has participated in multiple Greek and foreign publications, Congresses and Seminars. Since 2020 he has been recognized as Medical Physics Expert in Medical Physics and Radiation Protection.

MORALIDIS EFSTRATIOS

He is a graduate of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece. Subsequently, he was trained in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine and he is a certified Nuclear Medicine Physician since 1993. Furthermore, he received training in Clinical and Nuclear Cardiology and carried out clinical research in the University Department of Medical Cardiology, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, UK. Moreover, he received training in Nephrology and defended his PhD thesis on the assessment of cardiac diastolic function in 2000 in AUTH. He worked in private practice and the public sector and in 2003 he was appointed in an academic post in the Medical School, AUTH. Currently, he holds a Professor post in Nuclear Medicine, based in Papageorgiou Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. Over the years he has gained considerable clinical experience and conducted or participated in research in a wide range of activities, including nuclear cardiology, therapeutics, renal function, brain imaging and positron emission tomography. He has numerous publications in international and local journals, contributions in international and local congresses and chapters in international and local books. He has delivered also several lectures as invited speaker and serves as reviewer in a number of international and local journals.

MAINTAS CATHERINE

She graduated from Athens Medical School, EKPA University in 1998. After completion of her specialty training in Nuclear Medicine in 2005 at ALEXANDRA General Hospital, Athens, Greece, she joined the Nuclear Medicine Department atthe Cardiology-Thoracic Hospital of Lyon,France, as a Hospital-University Nuclear Medicine Consultantbetween 2005-2006.While being responsible for training registrars in Conventional Nuclear Medicine, she was trained in PET/CTin collaboration with the “Centre AnticancereuxLeon-Berard”.During that period, apart from the clinical work, she participated in a multicentre study on attenuation correction artifacts in PET/CT. She has a Postgraduate Diploma of the European School of Nuclear Medicine-INSTN course- on Radiation biology, dosimetry, radiation protection, radiopharmaceuticals, instrumentation, and Clinical Nuclear Medicine. Upon returning to Greece in 2006, she was appointed as a Consultant in Nuclear Medicine in the Nuclear Medicine Department, Athens Medical, to currently. She is one of the main reporting Nuclear Medicine Physicians in the PET/CT unit of Athens Medical since 2009, which is her primary professional and scientific interest. In the recent years she has had the honor of participating as an invited speaker in several Scientific and Continuing Medical Education meetings in Greece mainly on the subject of PET/CT implementation.

MAKATSORIS THOMAS

He received his Medical Degree from the University of Patras in 1990 and subsequently he did his training in Internal Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital USA from 1990-1994 (in affiliation with Yale University School of Medicine) and then in Hematology – Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1994-1997 (in affiliation with Harvard Medical School). He passed the certification exams in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Since 2000 he is an attending physician at the Division of Medical Oncology of the University Hospital of Patras and since 2009, he is in the faculty of the University of Patras Medical School. In 2002 he represented the Greek Ministry of Health at the World Health Organization for the Convention on tobacco control. His scientific interests are focused in gastrointestinal as well as lung cancer both in clinical and translational research.

She graduated from Patras Technological Educational Institution (1988), then graduated from pathological nursing specialty (2005) and followed the Postgraduate Program entitled “Clinical and Laboratory Cardiology”. She has made plenty of oral presentations in medical and nursing conferences.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, Larissa, Greece in 2001. He was trained in Nuclear Medicine at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Sotiria General Hospital of Chest Diseases, Athens, Greece. From 2008 to 2014 he served as a consultant in nuclear medicine at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Henry Dunant Hospital, Athens, Greece. Since 2014 he is a consultant in nuclear medicine at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Hippokration General Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. He has authored or co-authored 20 peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters.

MESSARIS GERASIMOS

He was born in Patras, Greece in 1968. He received his BSc in Physics from the University of Patras in 1993, his MSc in Medical Physics from the University of Patras in 1995, his first PhD in Medical Physics from the University of Patras in 2001, and his second PhD in Bio-Fluid Mechanics from the Hellenic Open University, Greece in 2019. He is working as a Medical Physics & Radiation Protection Expert in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Medical Physics Department of the University Hospital of Patras since 2003. His research interests focus on: (i) dose and image quality optimization in radiological examinations and (ii) study of flow inside large blood vessels using analytical methods. He is author or co-author in 24 scientific papers and 13 conference papers published in peer-review journals. He serves as a Reviewer in the peer-reviewed journals: (a) Physica Medica: European Journal of Medical Physics and (b) Physics of Fluids. In the first journal (PM) he is also member of the Editorial Board. He is member of the Hellenic Association of Medical Physicists (HAMP) and the European Federation of Medical Physicists (EFOMP) while in the period 2018-2020 he was president of HAMP.

PANAGIOTIDIS EMMANOUIL

He received his Medical Degree (M.D) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and his Nuclear Medicine speciality the ‘Evagelismos’ General Hospital of Athens, Greece. He completed his post-graduate training at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine of the University College Hospital, London, UK. During his post-graduate training he acquired expertise in hybrid imaging (PET/MRI, PET/CT and SPECT/CT), Nuclear Cardiology and Radionuclide therapies. Dr Panagiotidis was Nuclear Medicine Consultant at the Royal Infirmary University Hospital of Liverpool, UK. He was Senior Lecturer in Nuclear Medicine at the Department of Molecular and Clinical Cancer Medicine of University of Liverpool, UK. Dr Panagiotidis received his Ph.D from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens focusing in oncology imaging and PET/CT. He has been awarded the Fellowship of the European Board of Nuclear Medicine (FEBNM). Dr Panagiotidis is active member and guidelines representative of the Bone and Joint committee of European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) and member of the editorial board of several prestigious Journals. His research interests focus mainly on the field of hybrid imaging and Radionuclide therapies.

PANAGOPOULOS ANDREAS

Dr Panagopoulos graduated from the Medical School of Kapodestrian University in Athens and completed his postgraduate special training in the University Hospital of Patras (1999-2004). He completed two fellowship training programs (Sports Orthopaedics & Upper Limb Surgery) in UK (2005-2007) and took his PH.D. from Patras University in 2004. He worked as Orthopaedic consultant in a private hospital (2007-2011) and in 2011 he was appointed Lecturer in Orthopaedics in Patras University Hospital; in 2013 he was promoted Assistant Professor and in 2020 Associate Professor. Dr Panagopoulos is a member of various societies including EEXOT, ICRS, SECEC-ESSE, ESSKA, & ISAKOS. He has already 70 publications in Pubmed, 12 in non-Pubmed journals and 12 in Greek Journals; 33 conference proceedings; 97 presentations in a total of 53 international meetings; 91 presentations in 38 Greek meetings; invited speaker-instructor in 44 courses; participation in 45 national and 22 international courses; participation in 64 national and 40 international meetings as well as participation in 18 courses of ΑΟ. He has been awarded 3 times for a presentation, his is a member of 5 international and 3 national societies, he is member of editorial board in 3 journals and reviewer in 5.

He is Assistant Professor in Nuclear Medicine-Hybrid Imaging at the University Hospital of Patras, since 2018. His clinical duties involve the PET/CT Unit of the corresponding Nuclear Medicine Department. Previously, he was Clinical Lead in the PET/CT Department of Metropolitan Hospital, Greece (2010-2018), setting-up this department from the very first beginning. His research interests focus on hybrid imaging, PET/CT in cancer immunotherapy, medullary thyroid carcinoma, NETs and large vessel vasculitis, Somatostatin receptor imaging, Multimodality imaging in Neuroblastoma and DaTSCAN in Parkinson’s/Lewy Body Dementia.

PIANOU NIKOLETA

She serves as Consultant in Nuclear Medicine, in the Nuclear Medicine Division of “Evaggelismos” General Hospital of Athens, Greece, since 2017. From 2007 until 2017 she worked as a Nuclear Medicine Physician at the Center for Clinical Research, Experimental Surgery and Translation Research, PET/CT unit of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. She was resident in the Clinical Laboratory of Nuclear Medicine of “Evaggelismos” General Hospital of Athens and she is board-certified Nuclear Medicine Physician from 2007. She completed successfully her PhD (2020) in the Faculty of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with title of Dissertation “The role of 18F-fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron-emission tomography/computed-tomography (18F-FDG-PET/CT) in the evaluation of thoracic disease in sarcoidosis”. LYRA VASILIKI

She was awarded the Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florence, Italy, in 2005, receiving the maximum score and honors. After her GP service for a year and a half, she was awarded her medical specialty in nuclear medicine from the “Attikon” University Hospital of Athens, in 2012.

Thereinafter, she has been employed for 3.5 years (until March 2016) by the Nuclear Medicine Unit of the “Attikon” University Ηospital of Athens, with a scholarship granted by the University of Athens, and then for 4.5 years (until October 2020) by the Nuclear Medicine Unit of “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital of Athens, with an annually renewable contract. Since then she is doing her residency at the Nuclear Medicine Department of the General University Hospital of Larissa. Her scientific work includes a PhD awarded by the University of Athens, where her thesis was on brain PET/CT, other publications in PubMed journals, international conference abstracts, and a book chapter in nuclear cardiology. ROMANOS ODYSSEFS

He is a board-certified general Radiologist, Clinical Director of “B-Aktinodiagnosis” private medical centre (Aigion – Greece) since October 2015. He graduated from Patras’ Medical
School in 2003 and was trained as a Radiologist at the University Hospital of Patras, from 2007 to 2012. In 2013 he completed his PHD thesis, an MRI and image analysis study of post-radiation changes of bone marrow in patients with skeletal metastases (Faculty of Medicine, University of Patras, Greece). He was offered a 2-year fellowship (November 2012 to October 2014) at King’s College Hospital (London-UK) as a general Radiologist, with a special interest in cardio-thoracic imaging. He served as a consultant Radiologist in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (London-UK) from November 2014 to September 2015. He is a co-author of a book chapter focused on MR imaging of bone metastases. He has published 7 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and has also presented his scientific work in several international and national congresses. He is an active member of several national and international radiological societies.

FRANGOS SAVVAS

He is a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, working at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre. He is the Head of the Nuclear Medicine department and is running the Thyroid Cancer Clinic.

He is currently the Treasurer of the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology. He has served as the Secretary of the European Society of Nuclear Medicine as well as the Secretary and the Treasurer of the Section of Nuclear medicine of UEMS. He has also been a member of the examination committee for the European Followship of Nuclear Medicine.

ASIMAKOPOULOS STYLIANOS

He is Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Patras University Medical School. He is an Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases specialist, with full clinical duties at the Depts of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases of Patras University Hospital. His teaching assignments include undergraduate, postgraduate and residency courses. His research background and interests are mainly focused on the pathophysiology of microbial translocation and intestinal barrier dysfunction in diverse pathological states (liver  cirrhosis, obstructive jaundice, liver regeneration, heart failure, abdominal surgery, sepsis, HIV infection) studied in animal models and patients. Dr.Assimakopoulos has been awarded for his research contributions with the “Walter Brendel” Award from the European Society for Surgical Research, together with several national awards. His clinical interests include infections from multi-resistant organisms, antimicrobial stewardship and surgical infections. He has published over 100 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals with a cumulative impact factor of 320 και h-index:28 (Google Scholar 3/2021). BRAVOU VASILIKI

Associate Professor of Macroscopic Microscopic and Molecular Anatomy at Patras Medical School and Consultant Pathologist at the Department of Pathology, University Hospital of Patras.  She obtained her MD and PhD degree from the Department of Medicine, University of Patras. She was trained in Pathology at the Departments of Pathology, Agios Andreas Hospital of Patras and University Hospital of Patras and at the Department of Histopathology, Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK. She is a member of Faculty in Patras since 2011.Her research interests mainly focus on cancer molecular pathology (actin cytoskeleton and integrin mediated signaling, EMT, genomic instability, liquid biopsy). EXADAKTYLOU PARASKEVI

She studied medicine in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received her Diploma in Medicine in 2008.  In 2010 she fulfilled her Mandatory Service as a General Practitioner at Thesprotiko Health Centre (Vrisoula Medical office, Preveza, Greece) and in 2017 she completed her residency in Nuclear Medicine at Theagenio Cancer hospital in hessaloniki. On 16/03/2017 she received her license to practice Nuclear Medicine in Greece.

In 2019 she obtained a master’s degree (MSc) in Public Administration on Health Care Management (MPA) (Neapolis University Pafos, Cyprus). Since 4/2018 until now she is working as a consultant in the 3rd Academic Department of Nuclear Medicine, at Papageorgiou General Hospital in Thessaloniki where she is mainly working at the PET/CT department.

FRAGKAKI CHRISTINA

She studied Medicine at Semmelweis Medical University and specialized in Nuclear Medicine both at the University Hospital of Patras and at “Evangelismos” General Hospital in Athens. She trained in PET/CT and Pediatric Nuclear Medicine as a Research Scholar at the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics/Sylvester Cancer Center (UMHC) and the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami USA. She received her PhD degree in Nuclear Medicine from the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in 2008. She has co authored chapters in scientific books (both in English and in Greek language) and has been a guest speaker in several medical conferences. GEORGA STAMATA

She studied in Aristotle University Medical School of Thessaloniki (Diploma in Medicine, 1994) and specialized in Nuclear Medicine in the Academic department of Nuclear Medicine at Hippokration General Hospital of Thessaloniki (License of practicing Nuclear Medicine, 2004). She received her PhD from the Aristotle University Medical School in 2008, on the “Differential diagnosis of osteomyelitis in the diabetic foot using radionuclide methods”. Since 2006, she serves regularly in the Academic department of Nuclear Medicine at Papageorgiou General Hospital, initially as a Consultant physician and from 2013 until today as a Senior Consultant physician. Her main clinical interest and research activity are all aspects of radionuclide imaging of infection and inflammation, mainly by using in-vitro labelled leucocytes SPECT/CT or FDG-PET/CT. Experienced in imaging infection by the method of Tc-HMPAO in-vitro labeled leucocytes in a variety of clinical cases, such as musculoskeletal infections, PJI, diabetic foot and cardiovascular infections. Responsible physician of the Department for the imaging of cases of infection and inflammation.

KONSTANTATOU ELENI

She is a board certified Radiologist, currently Head of CT imaging in “B-Diagnosis” private medical centre (Patras – Greece).

After graduating from “Kapodistrian” University’s Medical School (Athens-Greece) in 2004, she received her master’s degree in “Application of Basic Medical Sciences (Molecular Anatomy)” from Patras’ University.

She was trained as a Radiologist at the University Hospital of Patras, from 2008 to 2013.

During her residency, she was offered an 8-month Honorary contract at King’s College Hospital (London-UK), where she returned for a Research Fellowship, after completed her training, from October 2013 to December 2014.

GEORGAKOPOULOS ALEXANDROS

He serves as Consultant of Nuclear Medicine in the Nuclear Medicine Division, 2nd Department of Radiology, “ATTIKON ”University General Hospital from 2019. From 2010 until 2019 he worked as a Nuclear Medicine Physician at the Center for Clinical Research, Experimental Surgery and Translation Research, PET/CT unit of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. He was resident in the Clinical Laboratory of Nuclear Medicine of the Piraeus Anti-Cancer Hospital “METAXA” and he is board-certified Nuclear Medicine Physician from 2009. He completed successfully his MSc courses (2012) in the Department of “Administration of Health Units” of the Open University of Patras and his PhD (2020) in the Faculty of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with title of Dissertation “The role of PET / CT in the emergence of extrathoracic disease in sarcoidosis”. His main research interest focuses on PET/CT imaging and he has participated in several observational studies and randomized controlled trials. He is author of 26 articles in peer-reviewed journals like Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging, European Heart Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging and Expert Review Respiratory Medicine with more than 170 citations. Also, he has been invited speaker in several international and local conferences.

GIANNAKENAS COSTAS

He was born in Assos, Greece in 1958 and migrated to Newcastle, Natal in the Republic of South Africa in 1965. He graduated from the Newcastle Senior High School in December 1975. Repatriated to Greece in 1976 where he attended Preparatory School for university admission. After passing the National Admission Examinations he was accepted at the University of Patras Medical School.

He received his Medical Degree in 1987. Following his mandatory military service he commenced his internship in Nuclear Medicine at the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the Regional University Hospital of Patras. Achieved his Diplomate in Nuclear Medicine 1993 after passing the Board Examinations and successfully defended his PhD in 1996 with a grade of “Excellent”. Based at the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the Regional University Hospital of Patras since 1998 where he holds the title of Head Consultant.

His major research interests regard the applications of Nuclear Medicine in oncology and the majority of his published work as well as other congress presentations, lectures etc revolve around this subject. He has participated a in numerous research protocols and has been honored with many award and prizes, both national and international for his contribution to research.

GIANNOPOULOU AIKATERINI

She is a PhD candidate in the Department of Physics of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The main scope of her PhD is to create a dosimetry protocol for the calculation of the specific dosage of I-131 for patients with differentiated thyroid cancer. The experimental research was done at Theagenion Cancer Hospital at several patients.

She received her MSc in Medical Physics from Medical Physics Department of the University of Patras, in which she studied dosimetry of the thyroid gland at hyperthyroid patients using SPECT and Planar technique.

She received her BSc in Physics from the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. My dissertation laid in the field of nuclear medicine.

Both MSc and PhD studies gave her the opportunity to take part in two European projects, EMRP JRP HLT11 MetroMRT and EMRP JRP 15HLT06 MRTDosimetry, targeting to the development of standard methods for the measurement of the absorbed dose received by patients undergoing molecular radiotherapy. Participation in these projects gave her the chance to meet and collaborate with dosimetry experts from all over Europe.

Now, she is working as a Radiation Protection and Medical Physics Expert at 1st Regional Healthcare Authority of Attica and at general hospitals.

IAKOVOU IOANNIS

He is associate Professor in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, head of Nuclear Medicine dpt. in University General Hospital of Thessaloniki AHEPA serving also the department of Nuclear Medicine at PAPAGEORGIOU hospital, training physicians in therapeutic nuclear medicine and following up many patients on outpatient basis per year. He has an MBA in “Healthcare Management”. He is a founding member (2014-2020) and now a senior advisor of the Thyroid Committee in EANM, member of the board of Hellenic Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging, secretary of the Hellenic society of salivary glands and has been the vice president of Hellenic Society of Nuclear Medicine of Thessaloniki from 2009 to 2011. He is member of the editorial board of the “World Journal of Nuclear Medicine”, the “Diagnostics”, the “European Journal of Hybrid Imaging” and Associate Editor of “Frontiers in Nuclear Medicine” of the board for Radionuclide Therapy. He is corresponding member of UEMS/EBNM Committee for Accreditation of NM Departments and NM Training Centres. He also works as National Representative in UEMS being also responsible of the continuing education of Hellenic society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

IORDANIDOU LYDIA

Graduated in 1984 from the School of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She was trained in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Medicine at the Anticancer “Metaxa” Memorial Hospital (1985-1989). She worked as the director of the Nuclear Medicine Department in the largest private diagnostic centers in Athens (1989-1999) and she was appointed as Consultant in Nuclear Medicine at Anticancer “Metaxa” Memorial Hospital in 2000.

In 2002 has obtained a Master degree in biology in the National Kapodistrian University of Athens focusing in applications of Molecular biology in oncology. In 2009 after one year advanced training in PET/CT and CT/PET in Institute of Nuclear Medicine of Royal Free and University College Medical School/UCL division of medicine in London has achived an equivalent expert certification in PET/CT in the UK.

She completed her PhD thesis in lung cancer with distinction from the School of Medicine in National Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2014. Since 2015 is a Medical Director of Nuclear Medicine department at Anticancer “Metaxa” Memorial Hospital with a long-standing interest in the field of Nuclear Oncology (Molecular imaging and theranostics). Furthermore, she is a General Secretary of Hellenic Neuroendocrine Tumor Society since 2018.

KAGADIS GEORGE

He received his Diploma in Physics from the University of Athens, Greece in 1996 and both his MSc and PhD in medical physics from the University of Patras, Greece in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He is a Greek State Scholarship Foundation grantee, a Fulbright Research Scholar, and a Full AAPM member. From January 8, 2014 to July 14, 2015, he has been a visiting Assistant Professor to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he currently holds an Adjunct Professor appointment. He has authored approximately 100 journal papers and presented over 50 talks. He has been involved in European and national projects, including e-health. His current research interests focus on dosimetry, Monte Carlo simulations, medical image processing and analysis, studies in molecular imaging, IHE as well as CAD applications. Currently he is a Deputy Editor to Medical Physics, Associate Editor to European Journal of Medical Physics, and IEEE Transactions on Radiation and Plasma Medical Sciences.

KARFIS IOANNIS

He obtained his MD degree from the University of Ioannina in 2003. He became specialist in Nuclear Medicine in 2011 and obtained a PhD degree in 2018 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the field of therapy of neuroendocrine tumors with radiolabeled somatostatin analogues. He is currently Assistant Head of Clinic in the Nuclear Medicine Department of Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels Belgium, where he works since 2012. Among his main clinical and research interests are Endocrine Oncology and Neuroendocrine Tumors.

RONTOGIANNI FOIVI

She was born in Athens /Greece. she obtained her medical degree from the Medical School of the Athens University in 1984. She completed her training in Nuclear Medicine in the departments of Nuclear Medicine of “Evangelismos” General Hospital in Athens and in the University Hospital “Pellegrin” and the Regional Hospital “Haut –Leveque” Bordeaux/France as resident ( Interne).

During her training in France she obtained the following master diplomas:

-Diploma of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (University of Rennes /France)

-Diploma of Radiobiology and Basic Physics of Radionuclides (University of Bordeaux II France).

-Diploma of “Pharmacologie Spéciale Approfondie” (University of Bordeaux II France).

She obtained the title of Specialist in Nuclear Medicine in 16/5/89. She also obtained a master’s title by thesis (M.D.) from the National University of Athens and the University of Bordeaux II (1990). Since 2000 she is Fellow of the European Board of Nuclear Medicine. she has being working in the Nuclear Medicine Department of “Evagelismos” General Hospital in Athens since 1990 and in the PET/CT unit of the same Hospital since 2007. During this period she has participated in multiple Greek and Foreign publications, Congresses and Seminars as well as in the National Program of Continuing Education in Nuclear Medicine.

LASSMANN MICHAEL

Received his PhD in Physics in 1989. Since 1988, he works as a medical physics expert and health physicist in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital Würzburg. From 2013 onward, he holds the full-time position of professor in the University of Würzburg’s medical faculty. Between 2001 and 2008, he chaired the Dosimetry Committee and between 2016 and 2018 the radiation protection committee of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). Since 2019, he is a member of the EANM board as scientific liaison officer. His main research topic are dosimetry and biodosimetry of diagnostics and treatment in nuclear medicine. He has published more than 170 peer-reviewed publications and reviews, and 12 book chapters.

SKOURAS PANAGIOTIS

Born in Patras and works in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the General Hospital of Patras as a Radiologist since 1986. Head of the same department paramedics since 2013.
Works as a professor in the Higher Drama School of DEPETHE Patras since 2012. He has taught at TEI and DIEK Patras.
Graduated from the  epartment of Electronics Engineering of TEI Piraeus and the Department of Theatrical Studies of the University of Patras.  Completed his postgraduate studies at Panteion University and in particular in the Department of Political Science and Modern History, and is a PhD candidate in the same department.  Has attended seminars: training in the provision of health services using telematics, in the factory manufacturing high-tech medical devices ELCINT [Haifa – Israel], legislation and reasoning of radiation protection and quality assurance, as well as in the economics of DRGS.  Participated in conferences of Nuclear Medicine and management of health services with papers and announcements. BOMANJI JAMSHED

Professor Bomanji is Head of Clinical Service at the of  nstitute of Nuclear Medicine (INM) -the largest and most modern Nuclear Medicine department in the UK National Health service. He is employed full-time by the UCLHospitals NHS Foundation Trust and holds an Honorary position as Professor of Nuclear Medicine with UCL. Prof Bomanji is nationally and internationally renowned for his leadership of Nuclear Medicine, taking forward the specialty globally, highlighting its applications for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with Tumours, Infections and a variety of inflammatory disorders. KARATZAS ANDREAS

He is a board-certified general Radiologist, currently working as Consultant Radiologist in the Radiology Department of Olympion Private Hospital (Patras-Greece) and in his own private medical practice. He also works for Telemedicineclinic, a teleradiology company, reporting for UK hospitals. He graduated from Patras’ Medical School in 2002 and was trained as a Radiologist at the University Hospital of Patras, from 2006 to 2011. During his residency, he was offered a 3-month Honorary contract at King’s College Hospital (London-UK) and a 3-month Honoray contract at John’s Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore-USA). In 2014 he completed his PHD thesis, a study of angiogenesis in rabbit hindlimb ischemic model after administration of NGF (Faculty of Medicine, University of Patras, Greece). PAPAGEORGIOU ELPINIKI

Associate Professor at Energy Systems Department, University of Thessaly, Larissa, Greece. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Patras (Sept. 2004) and an MSc in Medical Physics from the same University (2000). She specializes in developing and applying artificial intelligent models and algorithms to decision support problems for modeling, prediction, strategic decisions, scenario analysis and data mining, solving important emerging problems in diverse domains. Dimitrios J. Apostolopoulos.
Professor of Nuclear Medicine, University of Patras, Medical Scool, Head of the Dept. of Nuclear Medicine & PET/CT, University General Hospital of Patras, Greece.

Dimitrios Apostolopoulos was born in Patras, Greece, in 1960. He received his MD in 1984 from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and his PhD from the same University in 1989. He completed his specialization in Nuclear Medicine at the “Aretaieion” Hospital, Athens.

He was trained in Nuclear Cardiology at the University Hospital “Haut-Leveque”, Bordeaux, France and in PET/CT at the Medical PET unit of the German Cancer Research Centre (Deutsches Krebsforschung Zentrum, DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany.

From 1990 until 2002 he was positioned at the department of Nuclear Medicine in the University General Hospital of Patras as a consultant. In 2002 he was elected assistant professor, in 2011 associate professor and in 2015 professor of Nuclear Medicine of the Medical School University of Patras.

From 2015 until today he is head of the department of Nuclear Medicine of the University General Hospital of Patras. This department has 4 units: a) in vitro (radioimmunoassays), b)classical Nuclear Medicine imaging unit, equipped with 2 SPECT/CT systems, c) PET/CT unit and d) therapy unit. He has co-authored more than 50 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed medical journals
and more than 90 oral/poster presentations in European or International Congresses. His publications have 627 citations (h-index=14). He has co-edited the book “Introduction to Nuclear Medicine” for the students of the University of Patras and recently the book “Nuclear Medicine” by “Neon publications”, 2021. He has also authored chapters in 5 other medical books. He was a co-investigator in 5 grants. He has given approximately 60 lectures in Medical Congresses and CME sessions of various Medical Associations. He is a reviewer in five Medline-indexed medical journals. He has supervised 6 PhD dissertations.

His research work is mainly on Nuclear Cardiology, parathyroid imaging and clinical applications of SPECT/CT. Currently, his research interest is focused on medical applications of Artificial Intelligence.

VASSILAKOPOULOS THEODOROS

Born in Athens in 1968, he graduated from Athens Medical School with marks “Excellent; 9.17/10.0)”. He was trained in Internal Medicine in the “401 General Army Hospital” and in both Internal Medicine and Haematology in the 1st Dept. of Internal Medicine, NKUA (1999-2005) and became a member of the faculty of the NKUA in 2007. His research in the area of hematologic malignancies is mainly focused on lymphadenopathies, malignant lymphomas and lymphoid leukemias and the role of PET. He has been involved as a PI in several international clinical trials.

He is the Chairman of the Lymphoma Section of the Hellenic Society of Hematology. He is one of the Editors of “HAEMA” and member of the Editorial Board of «Blood Cancer Journal”, “Cancers”, and “Leukemia and Lymphoma”. He has also been the Guest Editor in issues of “Seminars in Hematology” and “HAEMA” on Hodgkin lymphoma and co-Editor in “PET/CT in Lymphomas: A Case-Based Atlas” (Springer International Publishing, 2016). Prof. Vassilakopoulos has served as a reviewer in >70 international journals. He has authored 179 Pubmed-cited publications with total impact factor of ~890, Google Scholar h-index 38 and ~5500 citations.

PAPANASTASIOU EMMANOUIL

He was born in Kozani Greece, on the 18 January 1968. He obtained my B.Sc. degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1990. In 1991 he obtained my M.Sc. degree in Medical Physics from the University of Surrey, UK. In 2005 he was awarded my PhD degree from the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 1997 to
2018 he has been working as a medical physicist at the AHEPA University Hospital in Thessaloniki. Since 2018, he is an Assistant Professor of Medical Physics at the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2021, he was certified by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission as Medical Physics Expert and Radiation Protection Expert in the field of medical exposure. He is a co-author in 28 research articles and 50 abstracts in international peer-reviewed journals and proceedings of international conferences and in 11 research articles and 17 abstracts in national journals and proceedings of national conferences. His main research interests include radiation protection, dosimetry and image quality in nuclear medicine and diagnostic and interventional radiology.

GLAUDEMANS ANDOR

Nuclear medicine specialist and deputy head at the department of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging of the University Medical Center in Groningen. He is also Chair of the Infection and Inflammation Committee of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine. His expert areas, both in patient care and in research, are (1) infections, (2) inflammatory diseases, and (3) tumorimmunology. He is (co-)author of > 200 peer-reviewed articles, supervisor of > 10 PhD students, editor of several Springer textbooks, and member of several Editoral Boards. SAKELLAROPOULOS GEORGIOS

He is Professor of Medical Physics-Medical Informatics at the Department of Medical Physics, School of Medicine, University of Patras, Greece and Medical Radiation Physicist at the University Hospital of Patras, Greece. Born in Salonica in 1971, he obtained his Diploma in Physics from the University of Athens in 1993, M.Sc. (1995) and Ph.D. (2000) degrees in Medical Physics from the University of Patras and M.Sc. in Health Care Management (2006) from the Hellenic Open University. He teaches Medical Physics, Biostatistics and Medical Informatics to students of the School of Medicine and the Physics Department as well as in postgraduate courses in Medical Radiation Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, and Public Health. His research interests lie in the field of Medical Physics, Medical Informatics, statistical learning and decision support systems. He has authored or co-authored more than 90 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and 4 chapters in books. He has acted as reviewer or associate editor in many scientific journals and has been member of the program committee of many international conferences.

TZOULIS PLOUTARCHOS

He is an Honorary Associate Professor in Endocrinology at University College London (UCL) Medical School. Since 2015, he has been a Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist at the Whittington NHS Trust in London. He currently combines a busy clinical practice in Endocrinology & Diabetes in Athens, Greece, with his academic work at UCL and clinical responsibilities at the Whittington Hospital. After his graduation from the Medical School in the University of Athens, Dr Tzoulis relocated to the United Kingdom in 2004, where he undertook his specialist training in both Endocrinology & Diabetes and Internal Medicine (Certificate of Specialist Training – CCT). In 2014, he was awarded a Master of Science degree (MSc) with distinction in Clinical Endocrinology at the Queen Mary University of London. TSIOURIS SPYRIDON

Born in Ioannina, Greece. Studied at the medical school of the local university and received a degree in 1996. Fulfilled annual rural medical service and then served the military for 18 months, a year of which as a resident in internal medicine. Specialized in nuclear medicine at the “Alexandra” University Hospital of Athens (2001-2005); ever since working as a consultant and currently a director of the National Health Service at the University Hospital of Ioannina. Participated in a broad field of diagnostic and therapeutic applications, with a special interest in brain SPECT imaging and nuclear medicine therapies. Trained for 6 months (2013-2014) at the PET/CT Department of “Evangelismos” General Hospital of Athens. Received doctoral degree in 2019. Actively involved in the department’s training program for nuclear medicine residents and medical students. Appointed quality management representative of department’s certification under the Quality Standard ISO 9001:2015. Clinical work and research have resulted in several publications in international medical journals, in chapter writing for national and international medical books, in participating in the review board of international medical journals, and in attending numerous scientific medical conferences, symposia, and workshops as an invited speaker.

VALOTASIOU VARVARA

She received her MD Degree in Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She was specialized in Nuclear Medicine at the Nuclear Medicine Department of “Alexandra General Hospital”, Athens (1999-2003). She has worked in the Nuclear Medicine/PET-CT Department of “HYGEIA” Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center, Athens (2004-2006) and the Nuclear Medicine Department of Larissa University Hospital (2006-March 2021). She obtained my Ph.D. degree from Faculty of Medicine, University of Thessaly (2016). Currently, she possess the position of Assistant Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Thessaly (March 2021-present). Her research is focused on Nuclear Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, Endocrinology, Radionuclide Palliative Treatment. She has authored/coauthored 74 publications in international journals (citations=926, h index=19), 4 publications in national journals, 1 book, 17 book chapters and 171 presentations in international and national congresses. She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (HSNM&MI), the European Association of Nuclear Medicine and the Educational Committee of the HSNMMI (2016-present). She has been member of organizing/scientific committees in 21 congresses/scientific events, invited speaker in >100 congresses and educational programmes (undergraduate and postgraduate teaching), chairman in 21 keynote speeches and reviewer/editorial board member in international scientific journals. 

BUSCOMBE JOHN

Qualified fromthe London Hospital Medical College in 1984. Following training in  eneral internal medicine he started 5 years nuclear medicine training at the Middlesex and Guys Hospitals London. He was appointed Specialist in Nuclear Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, London in 1994. His research interests included high quality SPET imaging and then developed the UK’s leading theragnostic centre focusing on NETs and lymphoma. In 2010 he moved to Cambridge to reconfigure the department for research into hybrid imaging including SPET-CT, PET-CT and PET-MR. In 2010 he also was appointed a visiting Professor in Nuclear Medicine to the University of Pretoria in South Africa. In 2020 he moved to Barts Health in London to help start their theragnostic service. He has over 250 papers in peer reviewed journals, 53 book chapters and written or edited 7 books.

VELISSARI IOANNA

She is a Nurse, with a master’s degree in Public Health. She is a PhD candidate in the Department of Medicine of the University of Patras from 2019 until today. Since 2016, he has been working at the University General Hospital of Patras having worked until today in Dermatology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology Department and Oncology Clinic. She has participated in the European Program for the Reduction of Health Inequalities (Joint Action Health Equity Europe, JAHEE) and in the Erasmus Program “iBMJO”. She worked at the General Children’s Hospital of Athens “AGIA SOFIA” from 2010 to 2016 and at the Asylum in Patras “Agia Efrosyni”. She has presented work at the 12th European Public Health Conference, Building Bridges for Solidarity and Public Health (Marseille, France) 2019, on: “Country Report: How do Greek municipalities currently promote health and health equity?”. ANAGNOSTOPOULOS CONSTANTINOS

Research Director at the Experimental Surgery, Clinical and Translational Research Center of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. He has previously held senior clinical and academic posts at the Royal Brompton hospital-Imperial College, as well as the Barts & The London School of Medicine, London, UK. He has held a number of administrative posts in professional societies and is currently Councillor of the  ACVI, European Society of Cardiology and President of the working group of non-invasive imaging of the Hellenic Cardiological Society. He has been Chair and member of international guideline committees. He is principle investigator or co-investigator in numerous studies as well as co-applicant of the FP-7 funded EVINCI (Evaluation of Integrated Cardiac Imaging for the Detection and Characterization of Ischemic Heart Disease-the EVINCI) trial, the PmedGR programme  http://www.precisionmedicine.gr) and the Infrafrontier-GR programme (http://www.infrafrontier.gr). His accomplishments include extensively cited work on cardiovascular imaging, achieving a citation index of 3925 and a Hirsch index of 28. He is editor of the international book “Non-invasive Imaging of myocardial Ischaemia” (Springer Verlag) and author or co-author of 10 book chapters related to cardiovascular imaging.  He has been Guest Editor of the HEART and he is currently a member of the editorial board of the EJNMMI and JNC, as well as Associate Editor of Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine.

DIMITRAKOPOULOU-STRAUSS ANTONIA

Born 1963 in Athens, Greece. Researcher, physician and professor of nuclear medicine at the University of Heidelberg. Currently she is deputy head of the Clinical Cooperation Unit Nuclear Medicine at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg.

She studied medicine at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After completion of her studies, she joined the Dept. of Radiology at the DKFZ in 1998, where she completed her doctoral thesis in medicine in 1990. In 1998 she earned the qualification for nuclear medicine. After her habilitation in 2004 she became an Assistant Professor of Nuclear Medicine and in 2007 a Full Professor (APL professor) of the Univ. of Heidelberg.

The research focus of her is the use of positron emission tomography (PET/CT, PET/MRI) in oncological patients. The spectrum of her scientific work includes many different tumor entities and radiolabelled drugs. One of her major research topics is the individualization of novel chemo- and immunotherapies and the prognosis of therapeutic outcome. Overall, she has co-authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications and more than 50 book chapters. She is member of several Editorial boards, reviewer for several scientific journals, congresses, grant proposals and has contributed to the organization of international scientific meetings.

SPYRIDONIDIS TRIFON

He was born on 21-3-1964, studied at Medical School of Thessaloniki (1981-1988). He was resident in Internal Medicine at the Edessa General Hospital (1991-1992), and in Nuclear Medicine (NM) at Hippokration Hospital of Thessaloniki (1992-1996) and became NM specialist in 1996. He worked in a medical center (1996-1997), and as scientific director of the NM center “Hippokration (1997-1999), both in Larissa. Since 1999 he is NM Consultant at the Department of NM, University Hospital, Patras.
Since 2015, he is director of the NM Therapy Department. He participated in the Scientific Committee of my Hospital (2005-2009), and participate in EOF scientific committee for radiopharmaceuticals (2017), and in NM specialty examinations committee of Western Greece (2016). He is member of the scientific committee (2005-2014), and co-editor (2014-2020) of the Hellenic Journal of Nuclear Medicine. I participated in postgraduate lessons in NM (Hippokration Hospital 1996-97, Patras Hospital 1999-2020, Neurology Clinic and Endocrinology department of the Hospital), in pregraduate lessons in NM (University of Thessaly, 1997-1998), and in seminars of IAEA (Cyprus 2003, Athens 2006). He has written and contributed to book chapters (2005 – ISBN 960-387-481-7, 2017-ISBN 978-960-467-481-7), 47 papers (31 in Pubmed), and in over 100 presentations in Greek and foreign Congresses. He has been invited lecturer in over 30 congresses and seminars. He is member of EANM, HSNM, and HSNM & MI.
